What I have heard is the timing belt, should be replace every 30,000 miles or 5 years(some people swear you can go a little longer), tensioners should be inspected and replaced as needed.
My understanding is that replacing the water pump at the same time is easy to do. And should be done then.
I am sure others will contribute who have much more experience than I do.
I am still a Novice after all...

Hey Yogii,
Thanks for your feedback again. Miles wise (kilometers in this part of the world), I'll be lucky to be doing 1500 miles PA. I suppose i could always get the belts inspected at the 5 year mark and go with the technicians recommendation.
