Front struts : 968 M030 vs 951 S
Hi all,
Can stock 968 M030 Koni front struts be fitted in place of stock 951 S Koni front struts ?
Although they have a different part number they seem to be externally identical ... Right or wrong ?
Anything worth noticing re brakes cooling ducts ?
On 968s there is apparently no metal plate mounted on the strut (although there are some on 944 turbo M030 struts) as on 968s air ducts are mounted on control arms.
Thanks in advance for any information (No doubt Raj will be able to answer )

I am running Front M030 with a two way revalve from Paragon products on my 968 CS.
I am sure they were originally 951 parts.
No problems whatsoever.
I think only the valving was slightly stiffer on the 968. Mine are probably stiffer still.
Cheers

Thom, you can retrofit 968 M030 struts to a 951S. They are direct bolt-ons. Only difference as stated are valving (stiffer on a 968 M030) and the air cooling ducts being plastic and more functional.
What might also help with the setup is a set of 968 control arms as they have wind deflectors on them which send air directly to the brake cooling ducts.
Also, the 951S struts have a 2nd locknut under the lower perch which is not there on the 968 M030 struts.
Good luck.

Nope, it's just a 'fake'.
Club Sport 944s (M637) had M030 and turbo Cup side mirrors, mine only has M474, non M030 968 CS springs, M030 sway bars and that sticker which is one of several copies I made made from the original I still have in its box.

Well, it did not clear 100%. So far it has made a 2 mm round spot on the hood but nothing to really worry about. As I don't drive my car on circuits I'll leave it like that.
There are 2 types of decals for the 968 CS :
1/ the large "Club Sport" ones that fit on both sides of the car
2/ a smaller "CS Club sport" one that fits on the front left fender, similar to the one on my S2 but slightly different in shape. I have seen this one only once on a blue CS and interestingly it is not listed in PET - and believe me, I have looked hard
However it is possible to fit the 944's decal on 968s, as this picture shows :
