I think most people in Texas are dyslexic. Just look at their governor...

Thanks for stopping by. I think a silver top will look great on your car. I’m surprised more people don’t use a contrasting color on their hard tops. I think it looks great.

I agree in principle. However, on Boxters all the hard tops that I have seen look dorkey. A silver hard top on a Spyder would be the ultimate DORK.
Maybe he is talking about a different car than the one showed on the left?

haha...had to stop back by to check on comments. I found a hard top BTW for my 986 Boxster in the proper thread. LOL! Very excited. And it's not for my 718 Spyder, but I have been known to be a dork at times.

PS For giggles, please post a picture when you have the dork mobile setup.

eye/beholder. I’ve always been a fan.

I seriously contemplated getting a grey soft top when I had mine replaced, until the top guy told me it’s nearly impossible to keep a light colored top clean.

I drove my first gen Miata/MX-5 for 6 years in Minnesota winters as my only..
The hard tops for that car were just too dorky for me to consider.

dlearl476, you found the only angle that the hardtop in a Boxter does not look weird. Or should I say, a very distant after thought.

LOL. I think the factory 986 hard top is one of the better looking ones out there. Compared to what else is out there.

I think the only one better is the <2002 Mercedes SL/SLK.

But then, I have a thing for convertible hard tops. Probably why my favorite 356 is the Karman Coupe “Notchback.” I like the Miata tops, too.

Yeah. The Sprite ones were pretty hideous, too. But the factory (steel) hardtop for the Triumph Spitfire was great.
