Default Boxtser/Cayman 6 speed in the 968?

Will the 2006-08 Porsche Boxster Cayman S 6 Speed bolt up to the torque tube and spindle?

Not without an adapter.

Here's some pictures I grabbed for you, showing the bolt pattern of the torque tube and the Cayman. The transmission is a Tiptronic, but it's the same bolt pattern as the manual. I don't see them lining up without something in between.

The other challenge would be that the mounting holes on the Cayman transmission are not threaded, so the mounting scheme for the 944 TT wouldn't work as normal. That's not a deal killer, especially if you make an adapter, but just another thing you'd have to plan for.

Cheers

One probably dumb question - why are you even trying this, when 968's came with a 6 speed transmission?

Thank you, I appreciate the pictures. I hadn't thought about the mounting holes not being threaded.

My 968 didn't come with a 6 speed transmission. Ok, just kidding, I don't have a 968!
But seriously though, the 968 transmissions are getting harder to find so I'm looking at possible alternatives for my upcoming projects.

Could probably get one from John Sheiry, Elliott Grafton or Mark Pleiman. One thing to know is that the rear axles are not the same as on the 944. I made that mistake when I was changing CV joints since I had done that on my 944. On the 968, one is shorter than the other.
