Hatch Lock Problems ('92)
I need some help on my rear hatch. The switch in the footwell operates the motor, which unlocks the hatch, but the key in the back of the car doesn't do anything. Upon closer inspection, turning the key appears to actuate the microswitch since it energizes one of the wires (blue/white). Following the wires, they plug into the motor/actuator. I've traced the wires, but I don't understand their function. I've confirmed that when I turn the rear hatch key, I get 12V on the solder joints of the yellow (top) and brown (3rd) wires. But, the motor doesn't turn. When I press the footwell button, I get 12V on the green wire and the motor turns. Can anyone help me with what is/isn't going on?
