Dashboard Lights
Hi, i'm looking to replace my dash lights with LEDs. I'm planning on taking the steering wheel off to get to the binnacle. I know I need to disconnect the battery for a period of time so that the airbag light doesn't come on.
I want to test the lights before reassembly, does anyone know how to do this without reassembling everything including the airbag light? Is there a fuse I can pull?
Thanks Phil.

Phil, if it was me I wouldn't chance it. Put the assembly fully back together, reconnect the battery, and then test. It is not that bad a job. research the bulb options so you get it right the first time. IMHO.

I just installed the carmagic kit. Couldn’t be happier. It comes with the reflective tape for the tunnels. Easy job. Look into carmagic. Used them for a few of my cars.

I merely used some LEDs from the local auto parts store by taking one of the old bulbs in and matching the base
I did have to unplug/replug the cluster a few times before the lights worked bc they had to be oriented in the connectors a certain way.
But the color and brightness after redoing the tunnels is amazing (for these old eyes).
Incandescent bulbs would have worked too but I like knowing LEDs won’t (usually) burn out.
