The emergency hood release - something you added or was there previously (factory)?

It’s a factory part. I just replaced the cable as it was rusty. There are two spots on the catch for both the interior cable and the emergency cable.

the emergency cable should feed through the grommet for the wiring for the micro switch

no. It hooks onto the little tab behind the fog light as you can see in my pic. You do need to remove the indicator and the fog light. Pretty easy though, just a couple of screws.

Where did you order the splitter from? I've been trying several US sources and no luck..

Not sure the splitter is available anymore from Porsche. It was a Porsche Motorsport piece I believe so if you have contacts who can order parts from the Motorsport Group perhaps they can tell you if there are any left. Doubt it seriously.

Carnewal sells these 968 motorsport splitters still made in the flexible plastic. $1000 US suppose he has the original supplier but his dont have the Porsche part numbers on them anymore, (probably a copyright issue) otherwise identical. Several others have knocked it off in FRP or CF. Think well worth the investment of the flexible plastic riding that low.
