My mechanic pulled my steering wheel and replaced my dash lights with led. Unfortunately my warning and airbag lights are now constantly on. Any help on where to get this reset in the atlanta area?
You will need a shop with the "Bosch Hammer" or the Durametric tool to reset the light. Ask to see the tool and the factory workshop manual before leaving your car with them.
Either that or a couple of pieces of black electrical tape.
Buy a Durametric. From Pelican; even though Pelican ain't cheap, it's cheaper than direct for the Durametric. And it's useful for seeing what your car is telling you. I really wish I had one for my cats. Also, so many battery things result in the airbag light, which the Durametric resets.
Yeah I saw that. Engine is running but I’m not hearing anything - I’m trying to figure out if it’s my ECU, variocam or just maybe the tester isn’t doing what it is supposed to be doing.

The first thing to check is for continuity in the solenoid. Disconnect the connector and probe the solenoid connection with an ohmmeter set to 2K ohms. It should read less than OL
It seems that the variocam solenoid is triggered with a 12 volt signal. Using a back probe and a fused 12 volts to red wire with green stripe and ground to the blue wire with the red stripe, you can activate the solenoid. Don't mix them up or you may fry your ECU. You may be able to do this with the engine not running, in which case the noise of the solenoid activating should be noticeable.
If the solenoid is good and the ECU is powering it, the varioram should be working.
From what I remember reading you can activate the VarioCam solenoid with a 9V battery. You can do this with the car battery disconnected and protect the ECU.
