I see no handle what so ever. I also see no place that looks like where a handle would attach.
My car is August 1994 production. Still have the "944" seats, not the "comfort seats" that I thought.
Could they have made a car near the seat change over without a passenger seat angle adjustment?

Now what do I do?

I think you can be certain that there is a way to adjust it… you just have to find it. Why not take the seat out - should be much easier to see what’s going on.

The pictures of your tan seat do not look like 968 seats, but rather 944 seats.

Any chance that a previous owner installed 944 seat covers and did not allow for the hole for the seat back adjustment, and left the lever off too?

That tan seat is definitely a 968 seat. I could see the 944 seat having a handle that broke off since they are plastic on 944's but 968 seats use metal levers (like in regajohn's post). I'll second deporto's advice and take the seat out. Then you can see if there is a hole in the cover for the handle and if not, feel behind the leather/vinyl to see if you can feel where that handle is supposed to go. I can very easily see someone not knowing you need to pull the levers in the seat back to put the seat back up and using the floor lever instead and forcing it.

Thanks for all the responses to this perplexing problem.
I guess the next time my car is in the shop, I will ask them to take the seat out.
This is not something that I want to do. Too many motors and connections for me to mess up!

I pulled my seat last week - it’s really nothing to be afraid of. Electrical connections are easily accessible as soon as you undo the bolts.

it is easy as long as you can get the seat full forward or full rear to get bolts !!
