mistake 959s v 968 on cover story
.The above picture is picture number two of the Rennlist cover story yesterday at this link.
The text for the picture reads:
Testing Purposes
That tour kicks off with, incredibly enough, a Porsche 959S. This ultra-rare test car was produced in the late '80s, packing more power and higher top speed than the regular 959. This particular car also happens to be the very first "S" produced and was also used in a direct, head-to-head comparison with the mighty Ferrari F40.They are referencing this car as a 959S, but it looks like some variant of a 968 Cabrio. The 959 was a 911 based car that looked like this:
Did they make an error? Is the beautiful blue car some sort of 968 concept? Or is there some odd history lesson here?

The blue 968 is a concept car called 968 Roadster. I blink into what could have been if Porsche had kept developing the 968. Instead they introduced the Boxster.
On the 968 Roadster Porsche used the integrated 993 headlights. I guess that is the reason that for example Deutsch Nine developed those aftermarket fenders.
I went that route with my Turbo S tribute and it really looks like it was supposed to be like that.
