I guess this is a bit of a silly question. Resurrecting my 968 I started to take off some bits to assess the general state and could not find the thermostat 🤔. I took off the radiator hose to the water pump (passenger side) but nothing in there? Bottom right on the picture. Loads of gunk though.

It should be in the large hole of the water pump according to the parts manual. Number 3.

That is what I thought also, but there was nothing there. I don't recall any issues with temperature control when I used her as a daily driver (15 years ago &#128522 so I am baffled...
