Parts Availability
I was curious if there were any parts no longer available for the 968?
Anything that could be a true bother in the future or stuff that can be mostly worked around?
TIA

When I was looking at a convertible 968 last February. I discovered that the metal bows of the convertible top are unobtainium. I guess that is why so many go with the manual opening system.
There many be other NOA parts, I just hope I never need them...

I've found that the clutch slave is heading that way too. So many threads in the past couple years talking about how the master and slave are both in the $70-80 range. Of course mine just went out and the slave is closer to $300 now🤨

I remember seeing a web site or youtube video somewhere that had a guy complaining that the rear glass (hatch) and window trims are no longer available. True?
Nowadays if you are handy with a welder and/or 3d printer you can get around most stuff I guess. Just curious if there were any show stopper parts out there. These cars are rare - not like wrecking yards are filled with them. Should I be looking for parts cars?
Not too worried about driveline. That can be worked around or swapped in the worst case. When cars get parted all the "soft" stuff like trims and interior stuff end up destroyed by ham fisted people and in the dumpster so I'm guessing there is not a lot of that stuff around?
Are dashes still available? I know with the E30 there was a second run of dash skins to replace the cracked originals but even those are dried up now IIRC.

Reece,
I do not know about the rear hatch glass. 968 dashes can be repaired, recovered, or otherwise made whole. Considering that approximately 4,000 968 can to the US and only 12,000 were made period, I am surprised that ANY parts are available for a car that was last made 23 years ago. If you can not find a part, post it here and most folks will go out of there way to help you.
