Could it be that the cam timing belt has jumped a tooth?

Or a balance shaft belt not aligned properly.

Well its Sold at $25k today & is going back to Colorado. The seller lost $4k on his resale 14 months after purchase last year, & also lost the money he spent on maintenance & repairs during his brief time of ownership.

I don't know if the seller "lost" anything. When you buy a car and then sell it later, you almost always sell it at a lower price. There are some rare instances when it goes up, but people never consider insurance, storage, basic maintenance, etc. when they figure out how much a car costs them. So the car cost the guy about $500/month for a year, no big deal.
