Clutch kit
Can you guys point me to a reasonable cost clutch kit for our car?
One web site I looked at had the clutch package and says it's the "correct" one not the Sachs one for the 964. But it seems a little pricey.
Thanks

It sounds like you got this figured but in the interst clarity for all you have to be careful of the wrong pressure plate, the stiffer but more common one is usually cheaper but will crack the firewall due to flexing. This can be addressed with a gusset though. If you google around you may find the color dots or something that identify the correct pressure plate.

Contact Pete at RS Barn. He has the correct kit.

I haven't checked prices in quite a while, but I know Pete will have all the correct parts and technical support.

$550 and the photo zoomed in says SACHS on the Pressure Plate despite the "house brand" packaging.

Here is the link to the article that shares why just seeing SACHS on the pressure plate can still be problematic and that you can buy everything SACHS but get the Porsche pressure plate. I think this is the kit Paragon has put together, yes more money but the proper pressure plate.

Thanks for all the feed back guys.
How do I know if the fly wheel would need to be replaced? Is that something that can be inspected while they are removing the clutch?
I have a really annoying shudder when I start off in first gear while releasing the clutch. Was told by Rsbarn that it's either worn clutch, uneven flywheel surface or oil on the fly wheel surface from rear main seal.

It should be possible for a machinist to skim the PP and the flywheel and if need be take a few thou off the cover to make up the dimension although with a new disc that's pretty much in the wash IMO. If it's just oil I'd put in a new disc and roloc the other bits and ship it. I am not sure how much could be seen with a snake scope. If oil is suspected it might be possible to put UV dye in the oil and see if the dye can then be seen in the clutch area.
I'd be a little concerned about the clutch fork.
