Rare color tiptronic vs rare color 6 speed
So it seems clear that all 968's took a step forward in value today! Forget cab vs. coupe. What is the value difference between say a Marine Blue tiptronic cab/coupe vs Marine Blue 6 speed cab/coupe?

I don't think one sale makes a trend. BaT has a history of having one off sales that have a particular car set a new high watermark, only to have the next grouping of auctions revert back to previous levels. I'm not saying the 968 isn't on an upward trend (because I do believe it is), but I think folks should pump the brakes if they think their cars are worth 50% more than they were yesterday.
As to the discount for a tip vs a 6 speed. I would guess the discount would remain about the same %, the gulf will get wider in dollar terms, but similar to the 911 targa discount vs the coupe, I would guess the % gap remains the same.

Having followed the 968 market for 20+ years I have found an equal condition/optioned tip will generally bring in 25% less then the same car in a six speed. The reason for this is performance. The 968 tip was 25% slower then the same 6 speed and the 968 is a performance car. You will find the same value differences over in the 964/993 market as well. Automatics can kick a manual's butt today but it definitely wasn't the case in the nineties. That said, if you can't/don't want to shift gears but still want a 968 the tip is your only option. One of the 968s I'm hoping to pick up in the future is a tip :0
