Default Windshield 968 and late 944

so the 968 needs a new windsheild. been trying to figure out what my options are, and there is SOOO much hearsay and 1/2 infos!!!(RANT: FINISH YOUR THREAD: report back M$&%$* F*%&$R!!!!!!!!!!)
So many threads with "I think".
Heres what I have found out: glass place that did my 951 a few years back (at their shop) sends out a guy for the 968, ( I asked for a 944 glass with NO antenna) guy lays it over the original glass, says: "WILL NOT FIT". Same glass they put in the 951, FW360. Turns out for the 951 they used a lot of sealer and their own universal moulding.

So here are the fact as far a I can tell:
FW360 is NOT CORRECT. this is an early 944 glass! Safelite is WRONG, they say the fw360 is for all years and its all they show (with non antenna) It can be made to work as I mentioned above, but probably only with a really good installer
the correct glass for 968 is FW00710 (or listed a FW710, 710). But 710 is supposedly no longer available. (this IS basically the later 944 windshield WITHOUT an antenna)

Really the only proper option, is FW00603, which is the late 944 WITH antenna. and it does have the spacer.

once i actually get windshield in, I will post the results.

feel free to correct me if you have any FACTUAL information (no "I think/saw/heard")

heres a pic of FW00603

Check this Pelican Thread I saw a few weeks back, he may have them in stock but at least seems knowledgeable about what you need.

A review of the PET for both the 968 and the late model 944 reveals the exact same part numbers for the windshields.

I echo John's comment about about contacting ProSource Glass (call and speak with Richard @877-345-2800) if you need more definitive proof.

I went through this last year on my car. I had to get the late windshield and install it myself - after a lot convincing with the Safelite shop. It's slightly smaller, 1-2mm on each side, but it's a race car so I didn't really mind and you can't tell. Cost was around $500 for the aftermarket glass. The only other option was to order one from Germany
Windshields are a structural part of most cars so some shops might not want to take the liability risk with the wrong glass.
