I don't really know. I would imagine it is a clamping type mechanism. You should see the 968 coupe windsurfer attachment :0, but there I go digressing again....

Back on topic, I don't know.

Attached is a better picture that shows details a bit better. I would still like to see pictures of the real thing, especially uninstalled.

From what I can work out - it is a clamping arrangement onto the trunk lid - certainly wouldn't want to try opening it with those on, especially with the straight skis of the 90s lol

I think that is right. Also notice that there are no ski poles on the rack. I doubt the fit in the trunk (boot), unless they are the collapsible type. I would hate to have them rip the top while attached to the rack.
