Smile New Guy .... Sort of...

Hey guys...
Not sure how welcome I am since my car is not a "real" turbo from the factory. However in spirit there is no question!
I recently became a proud Porsche owner after having been a loyal BMW enthusiast.
I drove this car, and simply concluded that there was cleary NO SUBSTITUTE.

In short, driving this car to me, reveals an experience encountered no where else in the living world. Unless you fly jets, are funny car drag racer, or do freefalls! It is amazing... It's like the hand of God pushing from behind.

I guess it's bit of a sleeper except with no cats, you can hear the howl of the turbo's from a mile away...

Here are the stats:
1990 C4 3.6 STAGE 3+ Turbo
Big *ss intercooler
headers
Muffler
heater
fuel pressure regulator
motronic software
manifold straps
twin Turbos
clutch upgrade
high flow injectors
twin fuel pumps
complete engine rebuild
dual MSDs
Big Reds
Bilstein coils
etc...

Results are 600 crank HP in high boost.

Here is a crappy picture. She looks better in real.

The work was done by Protosport in New Jersey.
They build only air cooled turbo Porsches...

C4TT,
Welcome on board. Thats a great built you got there. Protomotive or Protosport have got a very good repo for building powerfull engines and have come a long way.

What boost you running at? which turbos you using? how about the headers, muffler, ecu which ones you using? Care to share with us? Just curious of your beautiful motor thats all.

Hey Sameer,
The car runs about 13 psi in low boost, and about 18 in high.
I am running twin Garret Turbos with custom Protosport wastegates, which make an amazing sound!
The headers, exhaust and heatbox are custom Protosport items. The brain is essentially a Motronic system and the fuel is sparked by dual MSDs.
There is a lot more, and I am waiting on a list of parts from them.

Of course you are welcome among us , it's air-cooled, it's a turbo and it is a 964.

Of course, if it was a watercooled Turbo

LOL!!
Thanks Kevin. I needed that!
The fellow who built my car was telling the next logical modification the car could seriously use is a wide body. He was saying, and I agree that the car is seriously under-tired. He recommended 245s for the front, and 315s in the rear!!

I saw how they go about doing it... They weld it on, with factory panels. Goregeous job. If in a year or two I have 10K I feel like dropping, it may be an option to freshen the look up.

Oh and these guys feel the same way you do about watercooled cars. Major
