Default Spotted: 964 Turbo Flachbau

Hey guys -
I was recently at a local body shop and they had a 964 1 of 10 Japanese Market only Flachbau. Had some real miles on it - stickers in Japanese on the armrests... I snapped a couple crappy pics but thought you guys might be interested.... I posted a couple pics of the 964 3.8 RS in the 964 forum...

Nice UQ .. Do the front fender vents have anything to do with downforce?

Sorry guys I don't know much about these at all - just lucky enough to have seen it. It was definitely not a garage queen - was told it came in from out of state for work - and it did have stickers written in Japanese on the inside. Wish I could tell you more....

Recent import? The front license plate holder looks Japanese. Might not have been registered yet.
There have been some 964rs brought in from Japan recently. Nice to have $$ and connections.

The 964RS aren't 25 years old yet, I was under the impression the only law that permits this is the "show and display rule".

Here is the general rule:

One basis for determining a motor vehicle eligible for importation is that it 1) is substantially similar to a motor vehicle of the same model year that was manufactured for sale in the United States and certified by its manufacturer as complying with all applicable FMVSS and 2) is capable of being readily altered to comply with all applicable FMVSS.

I don't think there is a big difference between the models (USA vs European ROW), except some visual stuff like added side indicators in front fenders, different 3rd brake lights etc.

If thats the case why aren't there any R.O.W F40's imported in the U.S, its substantially superior to the American market model.

Man I've never owned a "964" Flachbau but aren't the rear vents supposed to look like this?

Maybe a 930 Slantnose

No the Japanese Slant nose is basically a 964 turbo slant nose with 80's style slant nose look.

What it differs from a 80's 930S is 965 front and rear bumper, speed line wheels a 3.6L of course.

only 10 cars made.

Looks more like a modified 930 slant to me, no idea.
