Default 4 Post lift & dropping the motor

Hey Guys,

Would there be any issues with dropping the motor on a 964 Turbo on a 4 post lift?

The inside width of the ramps is 39-1/2" but not sure how wide a Porsche engine is though?

I have access to a Back Yard Buddy lift but not sure about the limitations of it (4 -post) when it comes to working on a car especially a Porsche.

Please advice?

Thanks

The engine is 36 inches wide (I just went and measured mine) so I don't see an issue unless there is a structural obstruction that would prevent you from dropping the powertrain. The best way might be to undo everything with the car at grade level or slightly higher and lift the chassis up and away.

Motor coming out again? Bummer. What's the issue? I recall you having some issues after sending the car off to a shop but don't recall what they were....

Hopefully this solves it and you can get to driving it....

Yeah the dang oil leak (few drips) still persists

Local Porsche dealership told me it's still the RMS and as soon as the house build is finished (just started), I will be taking this project on myself.

Garage (28'x42') will have one designated bay just for this project

The drip is really not an issue but it's just friggen annoying
