Default 4 bolts With Fapspeed Cat Bypass?

Anyone know what the four bolts that come with the pipe is used for? A few weeks ago I pulled the stock exhaust system off the car and plan to install the new system in early spring.

All the pictures I see I don't see any with the four bolts. What are they for? I got the four nuts and gasket just like this one pictured. Thanks

I think those are 4 new nuts for your turbo studs.

You guys didn't read my entire post I know the four nuts are for the turbo studs. My pipe came with four allen head bolts and the only thing I can think of is they sent them incase the stock studs from the turbo backed out or were damaged?

Picture of the kit that came with the pipe.

Bernie, you distracted us with the picture of the shiny new pipe.
I don't know what those SHS's are for.
I think it will become apparent when you tear into it.

Paul there you go again not reading my post I already pulled the stock system off the car and can't imagine where these bolts would go.

I'll send Fapspeed an email and see what they say.

Well, since you already have it apart, is this a test?
It's been a few years since I installed/removed my bypass pipe. I bought it used so I wasn't aware it originally came with bonus hardware
Those look a little long for replacing the studs but then again, two of those studs (the ones facing the engine) could be a lot shorter in my opinion.

Nope no test With the temperature jumping to 70 a few weeks ago I was able to pull the car up on ramps and remove the stock exhaust system but ran out of time to install the new system.

Paul, do you remember what you did to secure the pipe? Did you re-use the large clamp that wraps around the old cat? Thanks

Yes, I did. I still use it with my RarlyL8 muffler, but I had to shim the support bracket out about 3/4 inch. You might have to shim yours out too. Some 5/8 inch diameter pipe and longer bolts is all it takes.

Yes me thinks those bolts were accidental or now they include them in case your turbo's studs need replacing. When I got mine they sent the wrong nuts - too small - but were very quick to send out a correct hardware package. I did not use the strap and, like paul, found the support needed to be shimmed. I did more of a rig job than Paul and will address it sooner rather than later. Oh I also had to dremel out the hole on the bypass's mounting tab for the support. Other than that I really like their piece. Better than B&B - which didn't have a fitting for the air injection - which I still have on my car. Nice sound, and you can feel the little bit of extra power/quicker spool.

I did send an email to Fabspeed asking about the bolts, haven't heard back yet. My air injection is still in place so I'll install it on the new pipe. Thanks

The bolts are just in case the studs on your Turbo break, which happens often.

With the temps in the mid 60's today I was able to install my new exhaust system. Man is it loud but love it

Personally I think with the cat bypass and stock muffler the car sounds amazing. Muffler bypass too would be too loud for me. Plus the muffler isn't very restrictive. Noticeably bigger difference (in power/spool) with cat bypass and muffler vs cat with muffler bypass...

But obviously sound and noise volume can be subjective

Looks shiny under there!
