Default OEM radio head unit options

I currently have Alpine unit in my '91 Turbo but don't like the flashier look of it Are there any other options besides the Porsche Classic head unit?

I am not too much into music and would prefer neat/clean OEM look with either a CD or an IPOD option?

Possible to fit a unit from other model years?

Thanks

Try Nakamichi, they are a bit more subdued.

Blaupunkt is "back" with some nice, subdued head units with modern features (bluetooth, SD card,...)

I've got the Toronto in my car & am very happy.

Can you please post some pictures? It looks good but I would have preferred the matte finish to match the rest of the dash though.

Here's the best pic I've been able to get with my phone.

I installed a CDR 220 in my car 4 years ago but I never turn it on. Guess I prefer the Porsche-supplied soundtrack

Would any CDR 220 fit our car or does it have to be modified?
The reason I asked 'coz Becker audio charges over $400 but then there are several on Ebay for around $200?

Please advice?

Thanks

The CDR220 will fit your car perfectly. If you want to be able to see the display when driving, you will need replace the faceplate with a different style, about $80.00. If you want iPhone/iPod connection you need the patch cable, about $100.00.
I bought the Blaupunkt Toronto 420 BT for around $ 150.00 off Amazon.com, looks and works perfectly.

I put a CDR-220 in mine, too. Looks the part and iPod adaptors are easy to fine - I paid $30 for mine on ebay but later found it through a website for like $10! It plugs into the iPod headphone jack - so it does not charge - I picked it over the one with the charging capability becasue I like to use the iPod, not head unit, to navigate through music. Yes the display is very weak - personally I don't care - not a priority. maybe someday I'll send it in. I think I posted a pic in my roadtrip thread.
