I had a very low miles 964 turbo and a highly modded 930 turbo at the same time. I sold the 964 and kept the 930 for a couple more years. Sold the 930 in March and bought a low miles 77 930 turbo. I'm keeping that and looking at a Ferrari to add to the collection. I love the old Ferraris so I'm looking at a 348 or a 355, maybe a 348ss or a 348/355 spider. They are reasonably priced, but engine out service is expensive. I thought about a 360, but the car is a little large.

The 355 is a better buy its basically a improved 348 and the performance is adequate for today's standard

Next target: Gr.4/R/ST/RSR replica with FIA/HTP, race ready. When? Not too soon, I'm afraid ...

a 355 has more problems than an unemployed single mother.

valve guides, header cracks, sticky interior, water pumps, tensioner bearings, throw out bearings, etc etc.

Of the v8 cars, the 355 is definitely the problem child. shame...cause its the best looking.

I really have very little interest in owning other sports cars. Driving everything I can occasionally is more of a goal but most everything I drive is either too much a video game or too quirky. Although some form of targa or cab would make a nice addition.

I always wanted a Ruf Yellowbird but after seeing the land speed record car being dissembled a few weeks back I lost interest. The car is seriously dated and build quality was questionable. Ironically the strut support they used was the same design used on my 74 RS clone car built by Bauman and Moritz in 1983. I visited the RUF facility in 1984 when I purchased the car and Ruf checked it out and found the strut brace design intriguing. I am not saying they copied it but it sure looks like they did and honestly the design was not the best, there are many other things I found questionable in the build but stands as a testament to a time long gone.

There is only one Ferrari I would consider owning for looks alone and that is the 288GTO but unobtainable as far as Porsche's go a factory 3.8RS but they are already far to rich for me so my goal is to build a clone one day.

As I get older i find I don't have the time to drive what i have as often as I would like so adding more no longer interests me. Although I do have an inkling to buy an SC or long nose and do a complete restoration. I find I am enjoying working on them more now that I have a garage with a lift.

Headers crack is easily fixeable many cars for sale with aftermarket exhaust like Tubi. I have a friend who has one and its really realiable. Sticky interior can be fixed with a certain spray.

Being a owner of a 3.6 turbo, an early 70's 911s would be a nice change, or may be a Tesla S !!

I have a few ultimate cars, but for me the pinnacle Porsche would be a 993 GT2.... which now is a half million dollar car. We can all dream I suppose!

A Ferrari is also in the mix... of course a 288GTO or F40 would be at the top of the list, cars that ruined me as a child when I got the chance to sit in them at a local dealership, however in my world a 512BB has a pretty intriguing combination of looks, V12 power/sound, and a somewhat reasonable price of entry.

512 is easy to get, price wise it should be higher maybe we can say its a bargain. I think it could see the hit the 246 Dino got in the last 5 years, I remember they were roughly 150k now they are 300+

I think most 965 owners are facing the same scenario. We all drooled over the 930/965 and the aforementioned 288s/F40s as kids.... we finally own/owned one of our dream cars, but there's nowhere else to go now. New age "supercars" are frankly boring. Their performance is awesome but heck even a Mustang has 600 horsepower now, it's not special anymore. And with the complexity and electronic nannies and I don't think there's a single contemporary car that will stand the test of time and continue to possess the same mystique 10 or 20 years from now.

Just got one of mine and it didn't matter too much what brand it was. I got a vintage race car with race history dating back to 1966 that has a few build options. A 63 SWC Vette that I will be racing at Monterey in the Historics in August. I was there in 2010 with my Alfa and now get to go back. A big deal at our house and I will be racing the Alfa at COTA in October.

Here it is before coming apart in my garage. We are going through the entire car mechanically and engine before the races. Will get to cosmetics this winter. It can run either as a 327 BP car as it is now from its T/A history or a 454 AS monster with huge slicks. Might do the AS version but haven't decided yet as it was already entered when I bought it as a BP car. It ran BP 66 - 69 AS 71 - 76 and T/A 78 - 84
