Bad Boys 1 vs Bad Boys 2 , Turbo 3.6 vs 575 Marnello
Hello,
Why is the Turbo 3.6 more iconic than the 575 M ? Both are great movies and the cars are featured as one of the actors in the movie...ie lots of time in the big picture but why do people think of Turbo 3.6 as the Bad Boys Porsche. I was just thinking about it today whilst enjoying an espresso.
Lets have some sort of a debate, clearly the Bad Boys 2 movie is newer and easier to remember the whole plot ?
I like the 575M and think its classic design language like the 964 and will age nicely in many years to come, but why does the Turbo 3.6 still reigns when you think of Bad Boys ?

I have the 964 Turbo S and for a few years owned a beautiful Pearl White 575M. Both great cars, both timeless designs that age very gracefully, I still wish I had the F car. But 1) the 964 is more of an in-your-face presence, especially in black, while the F car has a more elegant, quiet, design; 2) the 964 featured at the very start of the movie, starring role up-front, while the F car was almost just an accessory to the rest of the action. My 2 cents.

Ferrari slowly lost their design chops over the years, IMO. The high water mark was the Dino 246 and the Daytona 365/GTC4. It went slowly downhill from there (there were exceptions: the F50, 355 Spyder and the Enzo being the most notable) until the 458 was launched.
The 575 was possibly the ugliest Ferrari ever....

308 GTV and Mondial, the 365 /400 and 412 are so ugly. When I mean 365 not the Daytona"thats gorgeous" but I recall there is an ugly 365.
550/575M are Gorgeous, whats ugly is the new F12 it looks like somesort of japanese design a bit of cues from many ferrari models and mix them up in a blender et voilaaa new F12.

We are obviously bias to 964s and as stated earlier the answers are purely subjective and borderline insane to call the 575 ugly.
I'd bet if this were a Ferrari forum they'd challenge the notion of the 575 being ordinary looking....as we all know it's personal opinion and taste...
One thing that is factual I'd bet maintenance is a pretty penny on that 575...daily drive that and you better be prepared to write big checks...
I think the Porsche is better remembered because that was the better movie...sequels rarely live up to the original blockbuster....plus he went from a hardcore sports car back in 94 to an exotic GT...fast forward to 2003...what were his options ...a 996 Turbo wouldn't have had the same effect...if he preferred the F car he should have gone 360 Modena Spider!
Just saying...no right or wrong answers here and a fun discussion...wish I had both those cars to tell you what I feel first hand.
