So I've got mine apart.
The part where they say to matchmark the halves isn't necessary. There are matchmarks cast into the halves of the body so that the ZF assembly people could assemble the pump properly.

You have a oil return line that prevents you from accessing the PS belt housing cover so, yes, you will have to drain the engine oil. It would be a good time to replace that hose while your at it. It's only $25 (I just bought one myself.).

do you have a P/N for that hose that is a good idea to replace?
