Mine is currently making 420+ here is a link to the project. http://www.auto-edge.com/pages/Proje...el=965%20Turbo

In my humble opinion though, a 3.6 turbo is much too rare to start hot rodding. just my 2 cents

+1. For me the Turbo 3.6 is about presence not tyre burning power. Don't get me wrong, it has enough stock power to keep me busy. However, my much less valuable stock 996TT would out drive my Turbo 3.6, even if I modified the latter, and is much easier to increase power with a simple re-map.

1 bar boost spring and headers will get you close. Anything beyond 400/420 hp will require EFI.

My recommendation is to drive an unmodified car first before you modify it. The power delivery is quite explosive - even in stock form.

A good rebuild with CIS on a 3.6 should give you over 400 rwp. I have 383 rwp on a 3.3 with a straight forward motor rebuild (CIS) by an excellent shop. If you go to EFI with cams you should get in the mid 500s (crank) on a 3.3. It isnt inexpensive!!

The money it costs to mod a 3.6 ,you could probably but a 996 turbo, but then you would be..... Oh never mind.

A spring and some exit pipes and you should be fine.

CIS refers to the standard mechanical fuel injection system on these cars "Continuous Injection System" (k-jetronic). To go into the 500hp range you will need to switch to an electronic fuel injection system.

The car currently has stock turbo, .9 bar boost spring, B&B exhaust + headers no cats, high lift camshafts and I drove it the other day and reached 300 KM/H which is around the 180+ mph

I have'ny dyno'd it yet because the weather is still hot 100F+. I saw a Turbo 3.6 on youtube which has headers and 1.0 bar boost spring and headers which dyno'd 393 rwhp which equates to roughly 433.9 HP on flywheel
392.4 HP on wheels @ 5,064 Rpm
670.7Nm torque @ 4303 Rpm

1 bar spring + headers
.

Would you advise that I install a K27/K29 hybrid or I should'nt bother if I am still sticking to CIS. I dont want an EFI because previously the dealership had a rough install on a 3.6 which burnt its pistons running lean.

My car runs nicely, I'd like more power.

Here is the 3.6 that I mentioned 1.0 bar and headers

I'd stick with the k27 and a 1 bar spring.

How big of a difference is the 1 bar spring compared to .9 bar ? Where do you recommend I get a 1 bar boost spring ?

I see many .9/1 bar springs available maybe my car has the same thing, I see .9 bar on 4th gear highway pull on my boost gauge "aftermarket". If so can I adjust the current spring or have to get a new 1 bar spring?
