I'd probably try the rebuild, bc the option is costly.
Might try Oklahoma foreign, they are basically a Porsche salvage yard, tons of stuff much cheaper than la dismantling .

That is my plan. I just REALLY would LOVE to get a hold of a working EZ to swap in to the car see if it does the trick. Just to be 100%.

Not being a jerk but I've seen these delicate devices going for $800 an I don't think your going to come across a good one that someone would be willing to loan out for test purposes .Buy that used electromotive one in the classifieds here or in pelican. Just an idea.

I had my ez69 die a few months ago, this component might be reaching it's useful electronic life. I couldn't find anyone that could rebuild, so I had to bite the bullet and buy a new one. close to 4K installed. All the pre diagnostics included Ouch.

No spark was the symptom. I'm far from an expert - but I will reiterate what others told me (and they were right) - look at the simple stuff first. Start at the flywheel sensor and/or connector and work your way down the operating system (i.e. connector to ignition relay to EZ to TCU to coil to plugs). First thing check that flywheel sensor connector!! Left side between the IC and air pump, basically. Not sure why it's so brittle on this car - never seen them fail in Audi engine compartments that are just as old or older and likely see just as much heat and likely a lot more water, etc.

Again I'm no expert but having just gone through this please let me know how I can help in any way.

when they were checking my car before replacement they used one off a mercedes to see if it would start. It did start but obviously not run properly. This was a final test to make sure it was the ez69.

Bumping this up--need a module for a turbo 3.6 for a car at work. It's definitely the module--we traded it with another 3.6 in the shop. Leads would be appreciated, and we know how much they are. Just don't want to spend the $3300 for a reman one from Porsche if we can help it...
