Post T-REX is gone!

I am now looking for a new Porsche!

It will probably be a 964 RS or a 933 C2 with sport suspension. This because my fiancé (the one that put my 964T in the track railing) will continue driving on trackevents. I know but I love her very much The 964T is a little more demanding than she can handle right now. On the track this car is a challenge for most people! And that´s why I loved it so much.

http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/TREX.jpg

My fiancé named the car T-Rex on the day I got it. Because it was amazongreen, big(wide), bad(turbo kick), powerfull and an exterminated typ of Porsche. Afterwards it´s kind of obvious this would happen when you think of the name of my car and the day I purchased it, 2001-09-11.

My insurance company has after some discussions agreed to pay the market value of my car. And I am satisfied with the amount.

Please let me know if you see a good 964RS for sale in Europe!

A genuine 964T fan,
Patrik Selestam

T-Rex will surely be missed but will now serve as a donor, improving life for other 964 turbo owners

Patrik we should honor T-Rex with a night out, drinking beer and talking about all the good moments.

For future reference, Patrik was in contact with Porsche AG in Germany and recived a letter stating that Porsche for liability reasons doesn't support repairs on "high strength steel components" (Patrik please check the above for errors).

Porsche has probably really good (safety) reasons for this policy. Something to think about when dealing with your insurance company after a crash or bying a car with a crash history.

Drink up ! Pity I can't join you both in Stockholm this time around for that drink. Just looked at the picture I took this summer of your two turbos. Next time a bright yellow RS will take the place of T-Rex??? Patrik, all the best and glad it all worked out okay in the end for you and yours.
Cheers

Ran, hopfully you will come back someday for a ride in my "new" car and a night out.
And yes, Staffans and my turbo made a striking pair
If everything works out with the "new car" the two of us will soon make a somewhat different but none the less fascinateing couple

More of the "new car" will follow in a few weeks when/if the deal is completed. I am having trouble sleeping.....!

Good to hear you will come back to Porsche ownership. A 993C2 shouldn't be to hard to find but the 964 RS has become very popular. I'll keep my eye open (it will give me a very good excuse to buy all kind of magazines)
Count me in if you go for some drinks, I would be very happy to meet you !

Hi everybody!

http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/RS92_bak_2.JPG

My new car is a 964 RS. It only has two owners and 34500 km. It is has all the goodies like front strut, cup-pipe, four point harness, spacers and Pirelli P-zero Corsa (R) tires.

It has NO stereo and No speakers It´s loud and I love the sound.......

The first owner is Roland Asch, how drives in DTM and won the Porsche Cup in 1988, 1989 and 1991.

I can not wait until spring and the next trackevent

I saw the car last night, it looks brand new!
Really like the car, none of the fancy stuff just raw power.
Look at the picture, the registration plate is driving me nuts.

Thanks for you kind words Staffan!

I can also mention that Roland Asch did not use this as a competition racecar.

Wow, you're lucky. Where I live, the insurance company won't give you anything if you wreck your car on a track, even if you're taking a driver's ed course. You would have received ZERO for your car. Nice, hey?

Wow! That RS i stunningly beatiful. I'm glad to see it still has the original 17" cup wheels.

To bad on that Turbo. Looked very nice. I'll be interested in your impressions, comparing the two cars. I have sort of decided to switch to something else, probably a turbo (930 or 964T).

cheers

Christian

Patrik

The car is almost the twin of mine. Except that it is an RS and not an 'automotive sofa' like mine is...

I am sure you will be very happy and I would think you may be pleasantly surprised at the lap times you turn in this. The weight saving makes an unbelievable difference.

Let us know how you get on.
