Default 3.6L Turbo Sale

If you guys want the actual story on my car, just ask. Clearly no one bothered with fact checking. The numbers match, the engine is blown up, why, not due the owner overbootsting it and starving it for fuel, thanks a bunch to the author of that tidbit, The guy who "bought it now" for $29.5 last week, walked from the deal and forfeited his deposit, didnt return emails or calls,...without ever seeing the car!!! All this xx you guys have layed out only helped to reduce the price I can get for the car. I wouldnt want the Karma attached to dissing a fellow enthusiast without accurate information. Steve

Please fill us in! Or make a way more detailed discription on the ad. We are all enthusiast looking out for each other, if there is a void in info given on a car it's usually for a reason.
You should have tried selling here first instead of eBay.

Like I said, I still think it's an interesting project car. Do you have any of the original parts still?

Well, now that you have everybody's attention, I'd suggest you state the facts about your car. Only paying members can advertise cars for sale, so I'd suggest you just state the facts. A lot of people are genuinely looking for a car like yours so this might be a good forum for you to actually get it sold at a decent price and it might still be a good deal for someone out there.

I would start with defining "blown up". Are the cylinders cracked? Are the heads ok?

Thanks!

Spark should tell the tale......
37 is a decent price considering what you get and what it needs.

What do you want to know? I have explained the damage to a ton of people and referred them to RUF's quote for $25K to put it back.

I didnt start this thread regarding a car for sale, someone else did. To clairify once again, the engine is the original block that goes with the car, at 3.6 lturbo. I have POrsches' certificate of authenticity for it too. $37K is a fair price. I will really miss the car if it sells.

Sincerely,

Steve Park

Cut him some slack. He clarified that today was Friday and the wind made kites fly. What else would you want to know for pete's sake when you're dropping $30k on a disaster. Some people..

Ive just had my second carefully worded response deleted by Renn List or by tired operator. Bottom line, I'm disappointed in who I thought were my peer's in the Porsche world. I didnt know everyone and their brother were talking about my car and spewing inaccuracy's. Its NYFB what I get for the car which is NOTHING so far but a dealer (topgearauto or some such bs) who walked from the deal that CLARLY stated no refund now is demanding it back and I havent heard from the auction winner, in part thanks to you y'all, he is probably backing out too. I will be following the example of my hero as it relates to this subject. Who is John Galt?

Steve,

I don't know your car or the rest of the story, but hope that everything works out for you and your Porsche.

Take care,

Ebay's always out to protect the buyer, on a deal like that your gonna get a lot of refunds until they get the whole story, that's a big project even for a experienced tech.

Steve,

A car sale and car purchase can be emotional. There are too many hidden risks when you ask someone to purchase this type of car. If you seperate the emotion from the details, you have a car that has close to 100K on the clock with a torn apart engine that needs alot of parts. You have not listed the damage>> was it a dropped valve? You have mentioned Ruf, they are in the business to build engines and sell there product. I highly doubt that they want to spend time discussing the needed parts list to repair this engine. If you have a estimate from Ruf, you should post it or at a minimum list the parts that are scheduled to be replaced. I seen that it needed the head, piston and cylinder, camshaft and cam housing.

The salvage yards and dealers will factor 15 to 18% of wholesale price for a non running car for whatever reason. Unpaid storage and impound to hail damage or ZXY.. A non emotional approach is to add up the parts value of this car. Chassis, gearbox, interior, hood, fenders, bumpers, wiring harness, engine case, and so forth. You will be surprised to find out the number that you come up with. If you are getting low ball numbers for your car, it might be better for your wallet.

The other option is to find a used 3.6 or even a 3.3 to get the car running and then sold. A car running and driving is worth alot more to "more" people.

Goodluck with the sale.. If you want my opinion for what I think your car is worth give me a call.
