Yes the salvage title will hurt things, but in 50 years, when their are 10 of these things left, the salvage title will mean less and the rarity will mean more.

They didn't show this very well in the pictures, but it appears that the sunroof is out of place. If that really is the case then this car is in much worse shape than it appears.

It is very unique!

My feeling is that if you buy this car to make money on the resale value then you better look for an original car. By the way you are looking at 100K + bill for an original... If I could afford to buy it I would slowly restore it perfectly and bring it back to life for my enjoynment and pleasure for years to come, not for resale value. The 94 T's for me are the best looking 911's ever made. One day I hope I will be able to have one in my garage...

If you recall, Porsche put plad in many of the S cars in the last year of production. The 951 S Silberrosa had that plad, just in maroon. The last of the 931's also had plad, and IIRC, so did the 914.

The plad is sweet and unique.

Having repaired an '86 911 T Factory Slant nose, I can say that bill will be well over $50k to repair.

As such, it is a rare car. If I had the $50k, I'd probably pick it up. Not as an investment, because you'd probably have your *** taken off, but more to own the rarety of that car.

Put it this way, the car was built to be driven. With 26k miles, the PO enjoyed it. Why not repair it and drive the hell out of it. It's been wrecked once, so all the others don't matter in the end. It's damaged goods, but a hell of a good time for an enthusiast.

If I only had the jack.

If this is a factory slantnose, it's a "flachbau" and worth a lot more (I believe) than a standard turbo S. If I had the cash, I'd buy the thing. With the Flachbau and the "unique" interior options, that's a damn cool car.

On second thought, it does appear to be a flachbau, but it also appears to have the sunroof knocked out of place. If something hit it hard enough to screw up 3 wheels, do that much damage to the front, and knock the sunroof, I'd have to have a very very skilled mechanic look it over before making any decisions.

This car will make a great parts car, as the damage seems to be too much to be safely repaired. Turbo S flatnoses ("flachbau's") are going for high 90's - low 100's, in today's market. Flachbau knows of what he speaks. He owns a beautiful black/red car, and I'm lucky enough to own a beautiful red/tan car. Puts a smile on my face every time I crank her up!

Beautiful car, I hope to own one someday. I think the interior works well for the period it was created for. Classic Porsche chintz. I think that this particular example has taken too much of a beating for anyone bar a real hardcore enthusiast with a need for the parts.

Hey, Mark. Yeah, longtime no speak! how've you been? I love the T-X50. Its got serious cojones. Two things of note- my Carrera GT should be here in Ocotber/November, and the factory (Werks1) have agreed to restore the Flachbau to original spec. It'll be a shame to undo the Carrera Cup suspension, but hey, you gotta do whatcha gotta do. How's the black car?

I'm jealous as usual! The black car is great, just not used enough .. well summer is coming so hopefully I'll get more time on it. My C4 cab wonders if anyone still owns it .. again summer's here so ...

Carrera GT, wow! No tech meltdown in your neighborhood. I'm relegated to ordering a new GT3 (tough times out here). I guess I'll just have to live with 4 less cylinders until the market turns around.

You'll have to email me privately to let me know what the factory is quoting for the restore on the 3.6S. Is air shipping still around $4k round trip?

Well ... all I can say is with all you've got Porsche better put your name on a prime spot in the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen parking lot!

Just bought an 03' Kawasaki 636 and am getting into the sportbike track thing. Very different than tracking my cars. Definitely a rush and far more physically demanding. The 636 makes my BMW 02'K12RS (an awesome bike in its own right) seem like a Honda Goldwing.

Let me know when you're going to be on the west coast next. Maybe we could get together. We're going to be moving our headquarters to L.V. so I'll be closer to your western US neck of the woods.

Oscar965, the Carrera GT has just been spec'ed out here. I don't know if it is the same for Europe, but in the US the option list is limited to exterior and interior color, full leather or leather/alcantara, sport or comfort seats, and color for the fitted luggage. All are no cost choices. I opted for GT silver exterior, natural gray interior, comfort seats (I sat in the sport seats in Geneva and did not like them) and gray luggage. Car is expected to arrive Oct./Nov. of this year, so I'll have a very merrry x-mas!!!

As to business, I run an investment company and, while the economy has been depressed, our style does reasonably well in bad times and great in good times. Sorry, but I don't need a partner! Thanks for the offer.

Fantastic choice. Silver is the choice to pick in my opinion.
I made some pics of the Carrera GT here in Amsterdam at the yearly AutoRAI.
Here are some:
