Its all about backspacing, final ET's and tire size. I come from a background of stuffing 10" wheels where a 8" wheel should be. Shouldn't be a problem stuffing a 11" or 11.5" where a 10" already is with extra space already there.

How many of you have deleted the rear wiper? That is my task for this weekend. I have a plug ready.. any advice on removing the wiper and motor?

I stick with my advice on the rear rim size and would talk to more folks first. there was something very specific about the suspension that made it not a great idea. I already owned a set of Fikse 11.5 inch FM10's (from my 84 930), and traded them for 10's after looking into it. Stephen Kaspar had the car at the time doing work, and it was not simply a money issue. that was a few years ago, so somebody may have figured something out. I am sure someone with a deeper understanding of the issue will chime in and prove me wrong, or be able to tell you what the pit falls may be. Thats the beauty of Rennlist. In any event, great car!!

Seems really odd.. There just wheels. Were not dealing with AWD or anything weird here. I'll figure it out

Just edited up a pic I took last weekend on my way to C&C. Looks really overcooked on my desktop but looks ok on my laptop. Think I might need to calibrate my desktop monitor again Does this look way too saturated and dark on everyone elses monitors?

What you are not thinking about is the 965 car have rear turbo trailing arms that push the mounting point for the wheels about 1" further out, so as you try to put a deeper wheel under the fender you hit bolts on the trailing arms on the inside and then the outer rear fender flare is right there. I have successfully built 10.75" with a few tricks and gotten them to fit where the standard Speedline wheel was 61 ET 10". jdorociak@gmail.com Jim

That is a great looking 964T you have! GR looks right on so many 911 models.

My rear wiper was removed a long time ago! It should take you 30mins.

My BBS LM set is for sale...although maybe not "wild" enough for you.

FYI, the rears are 18x11" and fit perfectly. I can't imagine owning a 964T with anything less than 10.5" rear wheels

Thanks! Love the LM's. Such a classic look. A bit too mild for me though. I'm hoping to stuff at least an 11" if not a 11.5" with a bit of stretch in the rear What offset are your LM rears?

The rears are 18x11" ET56 with a 285/30-18 tire. These is only ~4mm of clearance inside to the trailing arm. You might be able to run an 11.5" but pretty all of the extra 12mm of width would have to go outside, at which point the outer edge of the rim will be well outside the fender. If I put a straight edge down from my rear fender it hits the wheel. IMO, 18x11" ET54 to ET58 is the ultimate rear wheel size for a WB 964, assuming you have at least -1.7deg of camber.

More conservative guys should run 18x10.5" ET54 to ET58. I really don't like a 285/30-18 on a 10" wheel. Interesting how Porsche used a 265/35-18 on a 10" wheel for the 964TS and 3.6 and all newer models (993, 996, etc) but used a 285/30-18 w/10" on the 993 WB cars. No wonder I never liked the look of those turbo twists, it was all due to the bulgy tire.

Hey... Tuner1.. You're my type of guy I'm a purist at heart but I love to break all the rules and change em as I go

If I run a 11" rear. I'll more then likely run a 265/35 Never been a fan of the bulgy tires either. Some mild stretch is all good especially after updating the suspension! As far as a bit of lip hanging out. It will be good with the right tire.

265/35 on a 11" NB. Pretty sure if he can stuff a 11" on a NB.. We can go wider!

Hi guys ... I think the stock 10" of the 3.6 are quite enough for road use ... IMHO

what size tires do you run on your car? I have a set of Speedlines 11x18 ET 56 rear and 9 x 18 ET 48 front I am contemplating to put on my 3.6 Turbo.

I ran the numbers and felt like they will work, glad to find someone who did it!

Now I need tires and will do it. Thx for yr help

Ohhhh I am jealous! If you don't want them I could be a buyer

Seriously though they will fit perfectly! That is the exact rear wheel spec I use with a 285/30-18 tire. Your front wheel will also be a perfect fit and you could use a 225/40-18 or 245/35-18. Let me know if you want more info.
