Transmission stuck to engine
Ok,
I just dropped my engine over the weekend and will post some pictures shortly.
I'm having an issue getting the tranny separated from the engine and I know it has to be something simple.
I've removed the four nuts around the housing, the starter, and the 10 mm bolt that holds a bracket connecting to the clutch fork on the driver side. Is there a clutch fork pin I need to remove.
Sorry if this has been covered but I did spend the last 45 minutes trying to find an answer in the search!
Thanks

Did you remove the fork pivot pin ?, part # 8 in this link http://dcauto.gotdns.com:4000/illust...index/27855041 if not, that has to come out. The use of a slide hammer will help with removal.

Engine-Tranny separation
Stephan,
Thanks for the reply and I checked on the pin, but I can't see a way of getting that out before splitting the tranny from the engine.
Shouldn't the throw-out bearing simply slide over the guide tube which allows me to be able to leave it in while separating the tranny from the engine?
I'm thinking I am being too gentle in the separation of the two, but better safe than stupid

I'd suggest that you search around for a manual.
This is not your usual throw out bearing. The advice that you have received is correct.
You will NOT be able to split the gearbox without pulling the pin.

Kevin (great name),
Thanks for the input and the manual (Enthusiast Companion) I have does say to remove the shaft, but not how to.
I'm guessing I need to "pull it" as the "punch" approach does not seem to be working. Here's a picture:
