Default help plse re wheel corrosion

Hi guys

Finally in a position to take my 3.6 Turbo off the road for some much needed work (before had to use car three days a week). First things I am tackling are new handbrake pads and re-painting the callipers.

While the wheels are off I was wondering if there is anything I could do to stop, treat, and repair some bad corrosion on a couple of wheels (see photos). I can't afford to take them to a specialist shop, so am hoping I could do something myself. I searched the forum but didn't come up with much. I am going to Google now but was hoping one of you experts could help.

Cheers

RJ

Those look pretty bad.
If you are very skilled you could get them looking half way decent but this is an area where professionals get the best results.
Send them to Jim Dorociak for restoration. He can bring them back for a fraction of what buying new would cost you.

Thanks guys - but I forgot to mention that I live in deepest Southern Spain. Not much in the way of specialists here!!!!

Anyway, I have found a load of info on Google so will have a go myself to make the best I can. In any case I can't afford those sort of charges at the moment

Thanks anyway.....

Hi Viggo - kind of you to ask for photos of the car. Here are a few with one showing a car show in the town square of our little town, Coin, about half and hour inland from the Mediterranean.

I am retired now but have since learned a bit about web design just for fun. I designed and run the website for our car club (Sol Classic Car Club). Here is a link to the website if anyone is interested http://www.solclassiccarclub.net/

Regards

Richard

Thanks - however, as you can see from my first post - the photos were 18 months ago and now I have corrosion on those beautiful speedlines.. I'm going to tackle the problem though.

Cheers
