Default flachbau.com update

Pleased to announce the first major site update in some time. We have reached one of our original goals of identifying all of the production VIN's including all of the X88 option VIN's which are now also included on the site. Our journey to locate all of the cars and get photos for the site continues ... and will likely never be completed. But then it's about the journey isn't it?

Also, due in part to the website and an article I wrote for 9 Magazine, a flachbau is being included in the 25 Years of Exclusive special display/event this spring at the Porsche museum.

Thx ... it's a site built for a small niche of a few hundred hardcore enthusiasts ... like 3.6 Turbo owners on Rennlist .... but we have had over 18,000 visitors since we launched in 2005!

T.L. - thanks for clearing that up , my bad.
Mark - Most of the X84 you list as singapore will be Brunei cars , such as 471
- it seems that all the Brunei X88 had Ruf EKS fitted , maybe the flatnose versions too ?
- i have details of Australian cars but no chassis numbers for them
can you have a look and help out at all ?
- Also NZ , there is a midnight blue & a guards red X88 ,
documentation e-mailed (for privacy)regarding post production installation of X88

- Yes thx Norbert for that data clarification

- The list of locations are the official delivery country(and build spec) not where the cars may have gone after that (for final delivery by the dealer)

- Do not know about the EKS or why that would be

- I can't really help on cars without the VIN's as I have no idea how the cars have moved around subsequent to their original delivery country .. I can tell you that none were delivered for Australia

- One X88 was delivered for NZ in Guards Red, don't know where the midnight blue came from- if it is authentic. There was only one midnight blue RHD X88 car and it was delivered to the UK

- As to the car in the letter, that is interesting. all X88 engines were installed by the Exclusive department so I am not sure why this car would be any different as regards having the X88 option 'officially' recorded for it. What I mean by that is why doesn't it show in the official records (other than in this letter from this car dealer - and I am not sure if this is an 'official' Porsche dealer or not). I am not saying that this is not possible to have happened ... I am saying that without inspecting the engine - or having a letter from Porsche, on Porsche letterhead, directly stating this - it is difficult to really know for sure.

If you didn't know, there is an article in new issue #70 of Total 911 magazine on the slant nose and Flachbau variants.
