Default Call me stupid but...

I have searched the forum and I cannot find the front fuel pump where the posts indicate front right (passenger on left hand drive) under the plastic covering towards the back? Where is it? I cannot track it by sound because I do not have a battery on the car. Is it somewhere under the hood? Help welcomed...

It's right behind the fuel tank, under a metal cover with vent holes in it, on the left side of the tunnel cover at the very front of the tunnel, which is under the car.

If you can get the car on a lift, its directly dead center just at the back of the fuel tank slightly in front of the front crossmember. I'll have my car on the lift on Monday and will see if I can take a pic for you.

Fransisco the fuel pump is located on the RIGHT (passenger)side of the car.

Locate the front right side jack pad and it is to the left about 4 inches.

You have a inspection cover with 3 louvers > the shape of the cover is offset.

If you sit in the front passenger seat, the pump is located below the front feet rest. To get to it you need to be under the car.

Many thanks guys, the car is on stands so thanks to your replies I saw the cover that has to be removed. For some reason I always thought the pump was behind the covers on the wheel well. Tomorrow I will get to work on the car. The fuel pump relay is getting extremley hot to the point my instrument cluster goes dead, switched relays and made no difference so I suspect a bad pump or contacts. Hopefully when I find the culprit of the hot relay the instrument cluster stops going dead and I can stop tracing electrical issues. Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks again...

Turned out to be bad connectors at the fuel pump relay. Replaced the terminals and so far so good.
