Yes, finding all the individual cars would take a crazy man, for sure.

I'd just like to know where the 86 cars originally went by country. Obviously, 5 to the UK. Is it information you'd be willing to share?

I just might be crazy enough to start a project of tracking them individually.

i forwarded my records to Mark - but it seems he is not what i would call a "giver" ...

but anyway : of total 86 there are 19 RHD cars : 5 for Hong Kong - 11 for UK - and 3 for South Africa/NewZeeland

still one problem remains : the Porsche Database won´t show the cars from 82 to 86 - all of them UK cars - and Porsche denies their existance.

i have found 83 in real live and forwarded my records to Porsche - no reply ...

Best from Germany

So that leaves 67 LHD cars. Any in the US? Or all for RoW?

(Great TL website, BTW. Much appreciated.)

none for USA !

you can reach me anytime, if you ever decide to start a register : m491@turbo-look.com

... it make no sense to spread detailed informations, for too many "grabbers" are around to make money with friendly and free offered informations ...

I worked over years on my OPTION-DECODER and can proudly say, that it is the most detailed worldwide, just to find out that someone used my unique informations to present this book:

This is what I had understood for many years, but was recently informed there may be a few Stateside and this source thought they were official North America cars. Thanks for confirming.

I'm considering such a project. Also for the '92 Turbo S2 cars, the '87-'89 M505 cars; and possibly the '97 and '05 Turbo S cars, and 993 GT2s.

That's sad and wrong to have happened. I have no such intent; just a love for the cars and their significance. I'm hoping to find and purchase a Leichtbau that made it to the US.

the smaller you keep it - the better is the chance to succeed -

Please mail VIN-Range for a 1992 TURBO S2 ?

- for the others - you would take care for far over thousand cars ... high potencial of frustration

Agreed.

Unsure. I'll have to dig a bit. There were 20 for North America only; 18 USA and 2 Canada.

Understood. I'd start with USA for each model, and proceed from there.

FYI, I have one of the Turbo S Lightweights, a silver car from Japan. Another RLer has a black one. If you decide to go ahead with your project, let me know if I can help.

Thanks. Love your Leichtbau. I think Norbert possibly has all the info to get started on the project.

Was at the Porsche museum last Friday. The 964 Turbo S wasn't on display, but I was told that it was downstairs. Didn't see all of it though
(and I didn't dare to remove the cover)
