my question is

i think its not the same, because the cam shaft is defferent between x33 to a non x33.

Check with your P dealer as I am sure there must be a repair or technical bulletin - if not then it is probably the same.

Hello,

I have too a X33 engine kit, and when I purchased my car from the previus owner, the valve timing was wrong (It was like if it were a normal turbo, non x33). The car behaved badly, it was not fine.

Later, I went to a Porsche specialist, and adjusted the valve timing to a proper numbers (1.2), and...Perfect!!!

Note: the valve timing of the normal camshafts of the turbo is about 0.7 mm.

The valve timing of the x33 option (sc cams) is about 1.1-1.7 mm.

Hope that helps

Gisleno.

What I've always read is that if you are looking for good off-the-line performance, go to the high end of the spec.
I've got SC cams in my engine, which I think are what was in the X33 option. When I timed my cams, I set them to 1.6 mm (high end of the spec is 1.7 so I figured 1.6 was close enough). I am happy with the result

Basically you're advancing the cam timing.. we used to do this all the time on the SC's. 1.5 - 1.7
