Turbo 3.6 front calipers....same as 993tt?
Guys, i'm right in the middle of putting in EVO uprights on my car. It has Big Reds from a 3.6T. The EVO uprights are from 993. Can somebody confirm that the front 3.6T big reds are the same, identical calipers as the 993TT......
Thanks a million.

You sure they are the same?? I converted my 91 brakes to 94 brakes. Pads are larger towards the center. Then My friend just bought 993tt brakes but he's using a 993 spindle setup. I haven't measured the 993 brakes.

The question was are the calipers the same. They are. The 3.6 front caliper was actually first utilized on the 928 GTS. The bleeders and crossover pipe are reversed between the two applications. The same calipers were spec'ed for the 993 TT. None share the same rotors.

Guys, at this point I don't know exactly what I've got. My "big reds" calipers will not allow the 993 pads to go in deeper, and in fact, the 993 pad material sticks out away from the surface of the rotor by 1/4 inch. Guess the 965T and 993tt are indeed not identical (Miles965uk summed it up)! There is the distinct possibility perhaps I don't have big reds after all....
Does anybody know where on the calipers are the Porsche numbers? I cant see a 964/965/993 number anywhere
Will need to source some new calipers. Anybody have lightly used 993tt calipers or know of anybody who may have a pair??

If 993TT pads don't fit you don't have 993TT, 94 turbo or 928 GTS calipers. Sounds like you might have 91-92 turbo medium S4 calipers. These use a smaller 48 x 132mm pad vs a 58 x 132mm pad so about .395" difference in height.
FYI here is a pic of a 993TT caliper i purchased new. Part number 993.351.425(426).10 same part number as the 94 turbo 3.6 caliper. You might have the 91-92 964 turbo 3.3l caliper part number 965.351.423(424).01 calipers which look similar in black. Both have the same 44/36 pistons. other than the size of the pad it is hard to determine which they are.
The picture below the new caliper is my GTS with same brake in black with switched bleeds and feeds for trailing mount. Lastly the 993TT calipers fitted to my C2 using 94 964T 3.6 adapters and 94 turbo rotor.
