Default mud flaps

Some of the 3.6 T on the board have mud flaps others don't. Mine hasn't but I am thinking of putting some. Not sure they improve the look. are they efficient in protecting the paint? Would like to hear you on this.
thanks in advance of sharing.

They will save your paint, especially on the shark fins.

I think they came in on the turbo around late 92 (in Europe at least) as I,ve seen some 3.3's with them too. I'm thinking of fitting some to my 91. Are they an easy addition, how do they attach?

Could anyone please add a couple of close up photo's of them?

Thanks, Simon

They were standard on the 94 turbos. Any 3.3ls you see them on were added later. I added them to my C2 track car and I am amazed a how much they have saved the paint compared to not having them prior. Especially the bottom side of the rockers but the entire door and rear flairs receive less damage by having them. IIRC I paid around $57 each for the ones on my C2.

I don't have any good pictures showing them on my turbo. this is the best pic I have they are more pronounced on my C2 since the entire rocker is painted amazon vs the turbo which has the lower half of the rocker painted black.

They are a simple install on the turbos. just remove existing screws and place screws through mounting holes and screw back in place. I had to modify my C2 to make them fit. This is the best upclose pic I have of them on the turbo

I don't suppose anyone would happen to have the part numbers for the guards available?

The info I have is 965.559.615.00 & 965.559.616.00 there is a mention of a suffix 01c and it states satin black but I don't know what this refers to and I have never seen any others than the stock ones used on the turbos.

G-luck

It's listed on Pelican Parts here:

If you find them in the UK, let me know - I could do with a set of them too.

First picture is of the fasteners that you will need to mount the flaps: (6) body screws of 6 mm diameter, 5-7 mm long and (6) j clips to suit. You can get them at any automotive painter's supply of some auto parts stores.
The second picture is of the flap as installed. There's a small access panel (used to get at the fastener that holds the rocker panel on) on the wheelhouse just above the area where you want to mount the flap (look closely and you will see the attaching screw). Remove it.
Now hold the flap up where it is supposed to go. Take a paint pen and shove it through the three holes in the flap which will mark the rocker. Use a 8 mm drill and drill on the marks. Slip the J clips over the holes that you just drilled in the rocker. Put the access panel back on. Screw the flap to the J clips. Go in the house, open a beer and go back out the garage to admire your installation skill

Part numbers quoted above are correct and are the official Porsche part numbers. They are available to order through your OPC in the UK. I have just ordered a set. Approx £90 inc VAT.

It appears as though the front 964 turbo mudflaps will fit a narrow body 964. Are these still available?

What about the rears? What are people doing back here ? Custom? Retro fit?

Thanks
John
