Kaaz LSD

Thanks Matt,
yes the car went back on the track, this time it stayed right side up (you know what I mean), call me, I'd like to just a talk with you about the diffrence in performance before and after, plus various other things that don't belong online(not regarding you or your products).
Eric, just for your info, some of the 996 gt3 cars that I have had in the shop, for ppi's, service, etc. have shown preload as low as 3lbs (car with 5000km =3200miles with no track use), removed diff. to inspect, no significant wear, so why no preload? I'll tell you why. But maybe you can explain it to me, because I usually end up fixing the problem without selling a diff. kit or a OS GIKEN )(sp). Don't get me wrong some diff's warranty replacement of the internalls, but others don't..... Plus your statement of changing the gear oil not making a difference, WHAT? Different oils have different properties, I am sure you know that right! The guy says that his diff makes noise (assuming it's not bearing or pinion noise), which tells me that it works, at least somewhat, because IF it was worn it shouldn't make noise should it .

Also Eric, could you please explain to me how the ramp angles are adjustable on the OSG diff's, maybe show diagrams/pics, or give stats like 20/80, 50/80, 40/60, (Yes, I do know what ramp angle`s do)etc. Don't just tell me it locks up to a 100%, is that on accel and decel.
Bernie
BTW
I always believe in new, better products, but just because it doesn`t wear, does it make it faster and better on the track.

It was Erik who made that statement, not I. He'll need to answer that for you.
I've tried calling you and all I get is your fax.

I have a kazz unit in one of my cars and I like it but Im really strict when it comes down to aftermarket Porshce parts and I would say go with Quafe differential unit.
I plan to switch from the KAZZ and go with the 1.8 unit they have.

Matt,
that statement was not against you, but Eric, sorry for the confusion. Everyone has their own preference regarding gearoils anyways.
Skyline,
the Quaife is a TB diff, which is not suitable for serious Porsche track use. Good for AX as it has not locking under braking

Sorry to barge in, but I'm interested in the LSD topic as well as it's something I don't full understand.
I own a 1992 964 3.3 Turbo with the X33 option - not sure if that makes any difference to what we're talking about here mind. My LSD makes noise too, and like someone said earlier in this thread, JZM in the UK (a Porsche Specialist) also said I should really only be worried if it doesn't make any noise.
It's probably that it needs a service too like you have mentioned, as I see no evidence of it having ever been serviced from the invoices and service history. If I don't service it, is it bad? Also, what oil do you recommend for it?
