It looks like cobalt in the smaller picture but Tahoe is a great color too. Thanks for the info. Must be afun toy at 460 RWHP I have enough fun at 380 rwhp although my goal someday is to see a min of 400 to the rear wheels.

And it won't be the dealer conceding. This '92 sat at Sport Auto in N.C. forever, then was traded/sold to another smaller import dealer in N.C., then Leith acquired it. If they say it was traded by a private owner he did not own it more than a few months..

It's been listed for sale at Leith for more than 8 months now and will probably be there alot longer. I honestly looked into buying this car but the dealer wouldn't conceed much on cash or trade. Their loss...
Car drives nice, but does not feel that strong to me. I know the stock 964 turbo is a PIG compared to a 930, so maybe that's why. For anyone interested in this car, I would highly suggest they get a PPI by an independent shop that knows turbo's.

sliceolater, help me here: why do you say a stock 964T is a "PIG" compared to a 930? I would think the 964T having a few more horses, a 5 speed, ABS, and a much better suspension would be the more advanced car.

RJohn,
Specifically, I'm referring to the weight differences. Yes, the 965 is an "advanced" car compared to a 930. However, all of those advanced options(airbags, 8 way seats, G-50, etc.) carry extra pounds which is noticeable to me.

Would be a nice car for 30K maybe. I would take an 89 930 anyday over the 91-92 964 turbo. 964 3.6 Turbo different story. Just too much stuff out there for 40K like 996tt, Dodge Challanger, etc.

The 964 turbo is roughly 270-300 pounds heavier than an early 930. An 89 with G50 is almost as heavy as a 964 turbo. Most of the added weight is over the rear wheels and is noticeable. Although like any car you get used to it. The 964 does have a far stiffer platform, coil over suspension, bigger brakes, more HP, K27, improved BOV, 20/100LSD amongst many improvements over the earlier cars. There is a lot to be said for both although stock for stock I was never quite fond of the earlier 930's with the 4 speed especially if it was ordered without LSD. Side by side a 964 turbo will accelerate slightly faster than an early 930 which were ever so slightly quicker than an 89 G50 car. The 94 steps it up a notch or 2 over both but if you plan on modifying it they all take to mods nicely just depends on how deep your pockets are.
They are all good just have to decide which works best for your needs.

Like to own one sometime. From what I have read, the 964 Turbo 91-92 was a hurry up get an engine quick kind of deal. The 993 is and will be the epitome of air cooled turbos but the wallet (mine) can't justify that now. I would love to own an 993TT 97 or a 3.6 Turbo and lastly with hesitation, 92 3.3 Turbo. I have a 993 S and a 964 RSA now and enjoy all of them. Would give up the S for a Turbo, not the RSA.

The 993TT takes it to a much more civilized level. Flatter more controllable power curve accompanied by AWD and 6 speed tranny really made it more of an everyday turbo than the older RWD cars. For a powerful fun ride the TT is amazing but for raw RWD insanity the 3.6T is a blast. I have a C2 that if it had a manual rack would be indistinguishable from an RSA it is a very fun car and with slight mods is nearly at 300hp. Makes for one of the most exciting although not fastest track cars I can think of. Although the turbo is just a monster in comparison. If you love your RSA and like that feel with more power the 3.6T is the car for you. If you like the AWD and more linear power band than the 993TT is perfect. I don't see how you can go wrong with any of them. If I had more garage space i would love to add a 993TTS to it but I can't part with any of the ones i have yet so I guess I better start building.
