Hi Anthony we have spoke on the phone when I was looking for a car. As I remember you keep track of cars. Mine is #284 red with black. Other than all of the standard lux features the only option was polished wheels I think for an extra $250. The new Speedlines are silver painted centers.
I passed the info on but it looks like he is looking for black.
Good luck with the sale.

I can't remember if it was a next year model m code car I will have to look. I think mine is one of the first cars in the last batch so I don't think it has the next years model code. I think the cars from 280 to 466 are the second batch mine is an august build hut I will double check.

I just pulled the cover off and took at look, its what I thought, it does not have the 718 code. Its chassis #284 built in August 93 with the R in both the engine code and chassis code. I always thought #280 was the first in the second batch without the 718 code but if you have seen cars in the 280s the other way then that is interesting. I thought I remember a large multi-month gap in production of the turbo in 93, like they stopped in April at 279 and started in August from 280 to 466.
I went over this with Adrian Streather right after he released his book and the general consensus was the first 288 were built originally as 1993 and vin changed by M718 code. He even issued an amendment to his book which reads.
Turbo 3.6 and turbo 3.6S includes the 288 1993 model year turbo 3.6's which were converted to model year 1994 by the application of M718
My car was built in May of 1993 and is vin # 189.
These were the last of the "hand finessed" 911's and it wasn't uncommon to pull a car out of line to make sure all panels fit perfectly or address quality deficiencies before they left the factory. It wouldn't be a concern just part of QC verifying everything was A1 before leaving the factory.

It just occurred to me that this was the car we discussed a few years back. Now it all clicks. This should be a nice car for someone.

No longer for sale. Thought of selling and replace with a Euro 964RS, however it seems like a lateral move and to similar to my Euro 993RS. Love it too much to part with.
