Sounds like a very nice car.

You will have much better luck selling if you post pictures

I remember now. You have had the car for a number of years IIRC. One of the last M718 coded cars like mine.

I passed the info on but it looks like he is looking for black.

Good luck with the sale.

Last M718 car was #288 technically all are 94's without any differences but R vs P coded engines started with Vin # 289. No big deal it doesn't make a difference since all but some S's were produced before December of 93. I didn't include the turbo S models in my info but all of them came with R coded engines.

I thought I remember a large multi-month gap in production of the turbo in 93, like they stopped in April at 279 and started in August from 280 to 466.
Interest. I have a list of different vin numbers and I was able to verify vin numbers 288 and 289. 288 had an M718 code 289 did not. It is possible your car was pulled off the assembly line and reinserted later. That would be my guess and would explain why the R coded engine and tranny.

I went over this with Adrian Streather right after he released his book and the general consensus was the first 288 were built originally as 1993 and vin changed by M718 code. He even issued an amendment to his book which reads.

Turbo 3.6 and turbo 3.6S includes the 288 1993 model year turbo 3.6's which were converted to model year 1994 by the application of M718

My car was built in May of 1993 and is vin # 189.

These were the last of the "hand finessed" 911's and it wasn't uncommon to pull a car out of line to make sure all panels fit perfectly or address quality deficiencies before they left the factory. It wouldn't be a concern just part of QC verifying everything was A1 before leaving the factory.

It just occurred to me that this was the car we discussed a few years back. Now it all clicks. This should be a nice car for someone.

No longer for sale. Thought of selling and replace with a Euro 964RS, however it seems like a lateral move and to similar to my Euro 993RS. Love it too much to part with.
