A 3.3 with EFI should give you 483hp at the wheels. $30k is a very good number for cost including the EFI system these days and a full rebuild. Anything less than a complete rebuild is a bit short sighted given the additional hp being produced. Contact Pat Williams at Pat Williams German Auto in Memphis.
He does very good motors. Add a boost gauge somewhere, a new lightweight clutch and flywheel and a new Garrett turbo and you will be in 'fine shape'. You will be poorer, but 'rich' in performance!!!.

Everytime you see a purpose built racecar, they are using motec. LMPs, 997 cups & RSRs....there is a reason. I personally wouldn't consider anything else, and its roughly the same cost.

I disagree that a full rebuild is required. EFI will transform the standard CIS car and as long as the engine is healthy to begin with, it will support a fairly large bump in HP. My original 930 had a stock bottom end up through P&Cs when it was run at 521hp for 6 years of track usage. Disassembly did not show any issues.

Price is relative to what your goals are. If building a complete case up package a 30K bill is realistic. But as many have said here adding EFI can be done for fair money. Horsepower is limited to your budget.
