I believe that the 3.3 S has a smaller "lip" than the 3.6. I believe it was enlarged because the 3.3 S wing didn't give quite enough downforce at (very) high speed.

The 3.3S wing is smaller and similar to the Carrera style wing without using a rubber lip. The 3.6S wing is the largest single piece wing used on any Porsche. It is all fiberglass and IMO one of the nicest wings made for our cars. Similar to the 993TT wing with less swoop and does not sit as far back on the lid since it is designed for the smaller 965 intercoooler.

Here are pictures of each.

Anthony,

Was that last photo taken at the NNJR meet (45th??) some summers ago? My car was parked in the same group, as they had them set up by years. I wanted to grab the keys from the flachbau and take off.

Damian,

It was taken last year at NNJR's 50th. MS has had the car for a while I believe he takes it out every 5 years to show it off. LOL. He keeps telling me he wants my turbo for his collection. I told him he knows where to find me and what it will take. I would hate to loose cobalt but those flachbaus are so much better looking in person and blk/blk is the best combo IMO.

Congrats.
Fortunately, Porsche made both.

I'd take either. The flach just loses some of the classic line. All awesome cars. Dislike is only amongst 964 turbos. It rules everything else.

I agree, the Turbo 3.3S and 3.6S (non-flatnose) are THE best looking 911s built.

Awesome!

Awesome. This is my all-time favorite 964 in the US (it is in the US, right?). The turbo S, with the traditional lights, in the best ever color combo. Perfection. Well done.

This is the second best 964 turbo ever made; bad boys 1 still takes the cake in my book. Great car. Welcome...
