You have to admit no matter the color a widebody 911 is an attention getter. I actually went from a widebody 74 RS clone in triple black to the cobalt blue 3.6.

I also had deep dish 15" polished fuchs, the Iroc bumpers and loud exhaust. That car got it's fair share of attention. When I was younger and still had my looks with a nice car I used to have girls hang out the window while driving by asking if they could have my baby. I even had a girl flash me saying she would trade me "these" for the car. Black when polished is like a mirror and looks amazing.

I agree the 964 turbo is an outstanding looking car, especially with speedlines which get a lot of attention. The color does add but I am sure Mike gets looks in his black beauty although not in the same way as the signal green where the color grabs attention first.

Another observation I find is that I get looks from older shall we say mature (mid 30's to mid 40's) women in my C2 as where the turbo gets more looks from younger women in their 20's and early 30's, guys and kids. The 928GTS is a car that gets looks from few guys but a lot of women in their mid 30's. My wife finds it annoying because when in the 928 the women just stare.

If I were only young single and good looking again.

BTW, HADS930 your car looks great and is a beauty. I will say you need to do something with the headlights. they are foggy and you can clean them. Would make the car look much better. I think your color works better on a 930 than it would on a 964. The added black accents on a 930 that were eliminated on the 964 really make a nice contrast and bring the color to life.

Here is a pic of my RS clone. It had some extra finish pieces on it but underneath it was 90% with all factory parts including the IROC bumper, just modified for street use. This car was mean looking and got lots of attention and when your in your 20's driving something like this back in the 80's you got a lot of attention.

What did you do with the car and how would I go about buying it?

Frank,

Regretfully I sold it to the wrong person. Although at the time he paid me big $$ RS clones are bring double what i sold it for especially with all the factory parts on this car. It had no amenities, sans sunroof, power windows, and sunroof. Even had the front end modified to accommodate the IROC oil cooler done the same way the factory installed them. Although it had a full interior. It also had a 3.2 liter max moritz motor with carrera crank that produced 270 hp and 265 torque. the motor alone is worth what i sold it for what a performer, instantaneous throttle response. I used to dust 930's at the track back in the 80's. If i stripped this car down it would still be competitive today weighing in at about 2250 pounds.

The new owner removed the wing sold off the fuchs for fikse's, tinted the windows and added A/C. I saw it a year ago and it looked awful. Oh well what can you say. For the $$ he paid me he could have had a nice 3.2 carrera with 1000 miles on it but he wanted my car so $$ talks.

BTW how is the search going? any luck with the car you were looking at.

+1 on young, single and good looking. It's ironic that when most of us are young we don't have the $$$ to own the turbos. Only when we're too old do we finally get the way cool car.
Even though I'm old I still want a RS clone to share garage space with my turbo...

Guru, sounds just like me. If I can get a bigger garage I also want a nice cab too.

I remember this car from the Porsche Parade in Dallas-Ft. Worth in the late 1980s. Great to see it taken care of.

Vifa, didn't you have a blue (some shade of blue) with white interior? Or maybe you were looking at one. This picture reminded of it, looks very nice.

It is hard to tell but I am 90% sure it is cobalt.

It takes on many appearances depending on lighting but looks identical to my car under fluorescent lights. my car will turn purple and even pink depending on the light. there is a purple color that I have seen that this might be and they might play with the light in similar fashion but this seems to dark to be it.

Do you have a color code? I made some minor adjustments and this car does the same thing as my car does with similar adjustments. Very hard colors to capture.
