Havent been on this site for a month and the first post I see is my old car!!

pm me and I'll give you a call. Car was sold to a dealer in the uk for £20k who sold for around £24k. It's a good car well sorted apart from there were a loads of stone chips to the car and the interior was quite poor condition for the mileage. But is was cheap when I brought it so didn't mind. Too much was spent on it but not as much as was stated in the add (by me anyway). It does have a very thorough history.

Was told it had gone to Ireland but check the guy has paid the duties as its still on my plate......

they are after top dollar for it now then. I know these cars are rare but is the price realistic?

Agreed - there are some in the Eu 60k range in Ireland as well but they are not selling. The issue is that there is a premium for Irish registered cars over UK cars for the equivalent of the Irish VRT importation tax (which for cars like this could range somewhere between Eu 5k and Eu 10k). The same car would be about BP 25k in the UK which would translate into a price of somewhere between Eu 35k - 40k WITH Irish VRT tax paid, no more than 30k without - so this example is overpriced by Eu 10k.

I gave this guy a ring a while ago, he hadnt paid the VRT and wanted the buyer to pay. He said the quote was working out at about 10k, but id imagine that has increased now with the new VRT emission rules !

Just back from the Cork area. How do you guys keep your left side and mirror from getting clobbered on bushes?

We stay in the middle of the road until you have on-coming traffic. This way you also avoid the axle breaking potholes. Truthfully, I sometimes believe that left side mirrors are simply a replaceable item for some people.
