Default Boo hoo! My car for sale...

After 2 years of fantastic and fanatical experiences with my 965, my priorities are changing and its time to let the beast go.

Work, family stuff, and my annual mileage is taking its toll on the maintenance schedule and expecially my wallet. As most of you will know, I have got good use, with over 24K miles of daily driving in the last 2 years. I've enhanced it, no expense spared. It goes like the proverbial train, and shows no signs of needing a rebuild, despite its 91K provenance.

A sad day indeed, but hey, its not sold yet, and I'm not letting it go for a pittance, so I may well be stuck with it for the rest of the summer...shame

Wowzers, just as you get the thing sorted it's for sale, very sad mate! Can you still come to the dyno day on the 31st of this month, might be good to have a recent dyno run to show the potential buyer how the car is performing etc. Hope everything goes well for you mate, let me know about the 31st, if you can go maybe post something on the PCGB site so Simon can put the firm numbers together.

Hi Mark

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure it is one of the best 965's out there so sure it will sell well.

What's next a 3.2 or something more modern ??

Cheers

Bl**dy hell Mark this is not good news. You must be the only guy in the UK that uses his 911 turbo, I mean proper air cooled (not a kettle) 911 turbo as a daily driver. What's next mate. very best Graeme

I have been driving my car, and it is beautiful... I do SO NOT want to sell it!!!
Luckily I have several motoring events coming up so will continue to enjoy the car into the summer.

Besides, I am not yet near enough to bankruptcy to sell in a hurry

Hey Addict, learn from my experience. I went through 6 months of loss after I sold mine. Even though it got me what I wanted at the time (a better track car) it was horrid letting it go. Getting back into a 911 was one of the best days of my life - indeed, better than buying either of my other two. If you do sell then take my advice and get a cheaper 911 - TBH I get (nearly) as much enjoyment from my 3.2 as I did from my Turbo, particularly on wet days like today. But to be without any 911 just totally sucks.

However, one thing the experience did tell me is that owning different 911s is really great. Previously I was all into 'working my way up' the 911 ladder but now that I've gone to older/cheaper/slower it's opened a new world for me. I expect my next 911 to be impact-bumper too. Although maybe with a turbo attached...

ps - you may have seen my 3.2 on the cover of this month's 911&Porsche World!
