Default 965 3.3 liter Turbo

HI,

Not real familiar with this type of Turbo, but I saw a beautiful Triple Black 1991 965 Turbo advertized. they say it was 3.3 liter and 320 Horsepower and only 600 or so were imported to the US and Canada. Anyone know anything about this type of Turbo and how they compare to the 964 ? Any info would be helpful.

Thanks
Rick

965 is a number that some use for 964s with a turbo. This is based on some part numbers beginning with 965 and a few other pieces of Porsche lore.

Here's the production figures from wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_964

Those numbers include all 3.3 964 turbos, so it's not broken down by model year or location. It still gives you an idea of how many are out there.

Very high, unless there is $17,000 in cash in the glove compartment. If you are comfortable spending that much look for a 3.6T.

+1 And I seem to recall seeing that car for sale at an auction a few months back, but I could be wrong.

Like others said - that looks a little high.

Keep in mind that low miles does not necessarily mean the best news for you, either in engine performance or because you are having to pay a premium that shouldn't exist.

Check some other sites for '91 turbos and see what they are going for.

There were actually 1,992 3.3 turbos produced for the US in 1991, not 673 and 289 in 1992. The US cars had 315bhp (as it says on the original window sticker) the ROW had 320bhp.

Dealer, BS was expected.
