Video sound clip after sport cat fittement (thanks to stu.p)
Hi guys,
finnally got my sport cat fitted, along with my new wastegate and bypass pipe, here is the youtube link to my "after" sound.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBJae_UNKxw
you can listen to the before sound if you look for my other videos. Sorry the picture quality is so poor, just taken clip but it's the sound that's important.
stu.p came over on a working holiday and did the business with all the fitting. For my part I made tea and fetched tools and parts on demand.
The difference is emmence and I love it. Sounds a lot throatier and free reving than ever. A good road test prooved it was all worth it.
On to the next mod then!!!
Cheers

he can't get any worse than me surely. I'm stoked as they say. It's way better than I hoped for and looks great in place, although you'll only ever see it on some ramps. here's a few images of the work as we (I say we, as in the royal we) progressed.

Nice sound, is that with or without the original muffler?
I love those pops and bangs.
Is this the good quality fake Tial wastegate from ssautochrome that you have there??

It does quite sounds like mine, though I still have my cat on, I replaced the muffler with a G pipe ! I de-cat once, with muffler, turbo seems respond smoother but I can take the smell.

Sounds good, nice amount of pops on the over-run. I especially like the sound of the birds tweeting at the start, must be early morning?
I'll bet your neighbours love you!
PS: Is this the Scart sports cat?

No I bought this from design911, although they did sell Scart they now do their own branded version, designtek. This may well be made by Scart for them. The quality of the workmanship welding etc was very high.

just got to work after a 25km drive. Wow what a differnece, boosts seams to kick in a little sooner, 250-500 rpms less. The sound is excellent and the acceleration got me thinking I had a new car. Large grin no in place.

Same with me Steve, it is really a big difference.
The sportscat does seem to work well with the G-Pipe without being too loud.
My decat - stockmuffler combo is not loud at all
And the pops and bangs are swallowed by the huge muffler.
Maybe I will go the same route, sportscat - G-pipe, sound a lot better in my opinion.
