uh ohhh... oil spots!
I'm finding quite a few spots of oil under the drivers side (RHD) exhaust but can't see where it's coming from....
Go on, give me the good/bad news.... Whats the best case/worst case?

Ben - could just be the cam covers. They can distort over time and leak. You need to get under the car and see where it's coming from...
Good luck!

Has the oil been topped up ( and spilled) recently ?

I wouldn't worry to much, but I would try to figure out where the oil is coming from.
Sounds easier than it usually is.
Exhaust right side could be many things, such as:
- oil pipes to and from oil tank
- leaking gasket or o-ring between the wheel driving the power steering pump and cam
- leaking valve covers
- leak due to "walking" rocker arms (oil and dirt where the spark plugs sits)
- and a "million" other things
Over time car leaks oil, nothing strange with that.
We should worry more about worn valve guides (high oil consumtion).
Start with trying to find the source.

Just thought I'd let you know the oil leak is gone.... turns out it was the the power stearing line. Not cheap to get replace but happy to have got it sorted!
